Thanks!

In all honesty, I did not know this forum was here!

My name is Royce Bunnell. I own OB Cues, a manufacturing company that produces pool cues and pool cue shafts which are distributed world wide.

I currently have 4 machines using Mach 2 or 3, and they pretty much run 8 hours a day 5 days a week. I started with Mach2 several years ago and have had so few issues I have had no need to come to the website for help.

Right now all my machines use Xylotex drives, but I have plans to convert a machine lathe with gecko's and big motors some time this summer.

I will have to spend some time reading through all the topics here. I hope to learn something along the way, and maybe I can contribute some too.

Thanks for the welcome!

Hello World,  I am new on this site and I am new to CNC and of course to Mach 3.  I am trying to figure out how to calibrate my Taig mill (that I purchased used).  Currently when I use the jog feature to move the table, when I move the table in the X direction an amount that I measure by hand as 4.0 inches then the DRO says that I just moved 38 inches.  Is there an easy way to correct this?
Thank you

Hello World,
My name is Dan and I recently purchased a Taig Mill that I have been experimenting with it in my spare time the last couple of months.  One problem that I have in trying to get started is that the readings in the DROs is way off.  All that I have learned to do so far is to use the jog feature and when I try to move the head of the unit manually in any axis then the readings are way off.  If I move 4 inches it will tell me about 30.********* inches - anyone that could help I would appreciate it.

Hi folks, I'm a newbie here that's building my first cnc machine.  My background is in visual effects production.  I'm now getting into industrial modeling, and have always wanted a cnc machine to extend creativity.  The machine I'm building will be 6 axis.  I know a little ambitious, but I am getting help from a friend that helps run a large cnc shop.  My main medium will be wood and some occasional soft metals.

I'll be asking a lot of stupid questions on the forum, I'm sure, please bear with me;)

Hello,
My name is Mark and by profession I am a programmer (Delphi, C, SQL)/DBA but dabble in photography, astronomy,  some electronics and riding my motorcycle.  I recently purchased a Taig DSLS and I am coming to grips with the whole CNC thing primarily as a way to prototype PCBs but also for making some parts for my other hobbies.  So far made a few tooling plates from HDPE and 6061, a hand full of t-nuts from some 1/2" bar 6061 I had and done some PCBs and some engraving little name plates and stuff.

Greetings everyone,
Randy here from Southern California like to say thanks for letting me join your group. I'm a Chief Engineer for a major banking data center and have enjoyed the art of metal working for quite some time. Have done just about every thing you can do with metal from tig wielding Alum to machining parts so small I needed a microscope to see what I was cutting, it probable was just my eyes going bad. Ever Oct. I get to take off work for about three weeks to put together a haunted house for Halloween and make all kinds of animatronics to scare the living, lots of fun.
Happy Mach3..ing
Randy
