Hi Jeff,

Perhaps take a look at and run some of the practice Gcode files in the .zip file here: http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,18345.0.html  - it may help you to get to grips with using Mach3.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the Mach world. I started working for a company that uses Mach2 software and we are looking at upgrading to Mach3 or Mach4. Can anyone please provide some insight of things I should be aware of?

Thanks

The upgrade to Mach4 is, I believe, substantial in that it requires the transition from using the printer port to connect to the motor controller board to a USB connection, this might involve a hardware change.

Steve

Hi All.
New guy here.  I have been doing 2D Plasma cutting with a DHC PlasmaCam for about                      9 years, but this 3D stuff is all new to this old dog.  Just got a 6040 router/mill (Ebay).  Have gotten as far as loading Mach 3, setting pins & ports (mostly) and tuning                                                                                                                                                   motors to the point where I can move in XY&Z & A. Need all the help I can!

Hi James,

Welcome.

I believe in learning 'hands-on' - then, when things go pear-shaped, the Mach3 manuals and videos are here http://www.machsupport.com/help-learning/

Hello All, I cant say that I am going to be a regular poster but I do value the knowledge that forums hold. I am a 30 year old TEXAN that enjoys many hobbies. 3D printing and CNC being 2 relevant ones to yall. (yes I said yall because TEXAS remember)

Hi All, 1st post to say Hello and thank you for the knowledge gained so far to everybody here.
Searching through to see if I can find the solution to my problem at the moment. Might have to start a thread with my issue, but will hang fire to see if I can find the answers on here :-)
