Hi there

I've been running Mach for about three years now and I never stop adding gadgets to my machines. After all this time I've only now added a vfd to my lathe and some other goodies. I must say even though I'm not a computer fundy, It's always a nice challenge to configure new hardware that you have added and get it to work and sometimes even better than what you have thought. Again thanks for the program to enable all our DIY and CNC junkies with our hobbies etc ;)

Hi Dick, I introduce myself without introducing myself.  My name is Gordon under the name gpfly28. I appreciate the quick response as one would think that our posts will disappear into the vastness of the site, I'm really impressed that it did not.

Thanks again, will start posting soon.
Cheers
Gordon

Hi
Al from North Yorkshire England. I'm known as Ilkleyal as I used to live in Ilkley west Yorks

I'm a time served Engineer, used to run Gildermeister lathes with their own language Eltropilot I seem to recall. Then spent many years selling rotating tooling, mostly solid carbide for a living to specialist aerospace customers. I have an in depth knowledge of machining and until recently had a manual lathe and mill

Now sold the mill and bought one of these cheap China Made CNC 3020 "routers" which are capable of 3D milling if you search you tube for the videos.

Should have the machine in a few days and have got an old PC out of the shed with parallel port to run Mach3

I will be a regular visitor with no doubt many questions.

Regards

Al

Hi, My name is Wayne (Croz) Crosby. Worked for 27 years with Lucas Girling here in South Wales, firstly as a machine tool setter and then as a production engineer, left in 2004 couldn't stand what was happening to the factory after being bought by another company. I have shed loads of experience in all forms of machine tools and started working with cnc back in 1982, have worked on Huller Hille NBH150 and 70, Index cnc lathes, Traub cnc, Bridgeport, Okuma LB/LR lathes, Pfauter PE 150 gear hobber, Hitachi Seiki and Doosan. I started my own light engineering/toolroom shop in 2005 and been rushed of my feet since then! Right now just finishing of a conversion of an old Denford lathe to Mach 3 as a "taster", very impressed with Mach 3 and the support from this forum! On my lathe I have replaced everything, spindle motor (control of which by Mach is next!) all steppers new as old one were 30 years old and tired and drives etc. In my "spare time" WTF? I ride motorcycles and am building a couple of classic bikes to either race or parade, one is a Morini 426 vee twin, the other is a little Ducati 160 and my road bikes are an old BMW k1100 for general scooting around and a Laverda Jota that I have owned for 25 years. Next up is to convert one of my mills to Mach, by which time I am ready to do so it will probably be Mach 10!
Regards,
Croz

Hi, My names Andy and I live close to Chesterfield in Derbyshire. I am currently building a cnc plasma table and have just got to the point of wiring and setting up Mach3 software.
I have been into engineering in some form or other for most of my adult life, anything from building motorcycles to making my own machine tools. Also big into making custom pocket knives when I get the time.
The user name comes from my other interest in shooting and pest control.

I hope you all don't get to fed up of me asking questions, of which I have many!!

ATB
Andy.

Hello,

Im Pat M. , I am a Mechanical Engineer.  I recently started working for Action Industrial Supply, in North Carolina.  I had worked for a manufacture for eight years, building plants etc until the economy closed the facility that I was located.  I work alot with material handling, conveyor systems, hard to find parts etc.  If you would like me to chase something down for you: email me pat@actionindsupply.com or you can visit the website at www.actionindsupply.com.  Im also really good at troubleshooting mechanical issues and can help with root cause problem solving.  Downtime is the enemy, lets kill it.
