Hi All,

My name is Sarman..I'm a complete newbie on CNC world. I'm looking forward for some help from this group for my plasma cutter table. Currently, I've just finished assemble my plasma table with Gecko G540 driver + Proma THC150 connected by parallel port. I am using Mach3 Ver3.043.066 running on Windows 7 32bit.
I've already set the configuration as per needed and tried a simple shape as test cutting file. the problem is my z axis sometimes not working as per direction. when it should be going up become down and vice versa. I've checked all the connection of wiring also the configuration. all seems like nothing is wrong.
Any input/suggestion for this problem? Your inputs/hints would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Sarman

Hey all,

Name is Russell White and am very new to the CNC world. Live from Kansas, I have been trying to setup my less computer savvy counsin's CNC machine that he purchased from a second hand dealer. I have multiple questions dealing with Post Processor set up, setting up the Plasma cutter with the table, and various other questions. The table is a plasma only, running mach 3 and sheetcam. Any help or direction would be appreciated greatly!

Hi Joe,
Please ask your questions in the Mach3 section and I am sure that you will get some help.

Hello,

I am Donnie. I live on the coast of NC.

I purchased a used home built cnc plasma table that came with the Mach software. I have had a little experience in CNC machining, but not a lot. I was introduced to CNC machining during collage Machine shop classes. I was pretty much trained in writing G-code and very little CAD software at the time. Needless to say, that was a life time ago, lol.

I love learning new things. My hope in the future is to retrofit my mill and lath with cnc controls. Along with other projects in mind. I do like the flexibility of the Mach software and look forward to years of fun, learning and growth with it.

Hi All

I have built my first CNC Router  (Cutting bed 24" X 48")  everything is smooth no binding with the ball screws not attached with just a little push each axis moves the full length without any issues. I first bought a very small chinese router and was hooked from day 1 so i also purchased mach 3 and have not looked back since

Hi, name is Ken. Live in the Austin Texas area. Normally work with data, but know nothing about electronics. Right now I'm still ordering parts to build my very first CNC.  Making it 2'x4'. I've got most of the hardware, motors, and drivers, but have some more questions. Hope y'all will be patient with me.

Hi there allow me to introduce myself.

Will Davis, retired test engineer living in Malahide, Dublin, Ireland. Have been cutting metal as a model engineer since the late 70s on a trusty Myford ML7.

Bought a Sieg SX2 Plus mill and have converted it to CNC. My problem is the controller I have been using (DDCSV1.1, linux based box) is not really capable of running a mill as it lacks a lot of G and M codes. Having spent a lot of money so far I really need something I can trust to interface my Fusion 360 designs to an end-mill.

Some of the g-code output by F360 is not appreciated by my controller!

I certainly don't want to hand edit F360 g-code

So for only $400 or so I intend to get Mach4Hobby and a PMDX-416 USB controller

Exoect a lot of questions!!

Will Davis
