Just load up this file and see what you get, it works fine on my set-up R3.043.00

Post a drawing of what you are trying to make and then I can give you a working piece of code.

Have you got Mach set to Inc I&J's or Abs?

You could try a spinner disc, grip the spinner in the collet with the component located in the spinner.

General Mach Discussion / Re: MachTurn and tapping
« on: February 01, 2009, 07:02:54 PM »
Lathe tapping is done with a G32 that way it has pitch control and the floating unit is just to take up minor error in stop starts.

e.g.

G20 (METRIC)
(NORMAL SET UP LINES)

N1 T0101 M8(TAP M6*1 THREAD)
G00 X0 Z5. G97 S100 M3
G32 Z-15. F1.(MAY NEED AN M5 HERE)
Z5. M4
G00 X120. Z120 T0100
M1

General Mach Discussion / Re: Cutting Circles

Hi Rainer,

when you used small line segments how long was a line segment move in X & Y ?

What is the resolution of your machine axis ?

If you put a long travel clock on the bed so it will show the last 1/4" of movement of the axis, watch to see if Mach is counting and the table stops in the area of the flat.

Are you getting a 1" flat in one place or 2 opposite each other.

It could be you are running out of resolution ?  :(

Graham

PS: I had a great time in York, it was nice to put faces to names. Funny I set off 20 miles outside York UK and 3500 miles later ended up in York PA

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 replace Enroute on a MultiCam rig?
« on: January 27, 2009, 01:43:12 PM »
Mach3 uses step and direction to drive the axis, some pictures of the current control and electronics would be a help.  The serial port is probably passing data to an on board processor, that would not be needed by mach.
