Wow, why not jump in at the deep end ;)

A Unigraphics training course is the best way, this one is not easy for a hardened user.

Can your CNC interpolate 4 axis simultaneous?

If it can't you are going to struggle.

The only way to do this is with ball nosed cutters and lots and lots of very small finishing cuts.

Lost wax casting looks like the way forward.

Tangent Corner / Re: Collet chuck source?

I use these and have found them to be .0005" TIR, when checked between my lathe centers.

I did it like this :-

Turn a 10mm dia 25mm long on a bit of bar and centre drill with a BS2 centre drill, part off.

Grip this in the collet chuck, center facing out!

Put a bit of scrap bar in lathe chuck, turn a 60 degree angle on end of bar. Do NOT remove from chuck!

Put fixed or running center in lathe tailstock, mount collet chuck between centers with just enough pressure to allow it to turn,

With clock on mag base you can now check runout by spinning collet chuck and clocking the shank.

Ignore the collet outer body as it don't matter.

Why not drive one off the leadscrew with a belt that way it will only lube when its moving.

if you wire it in as the single step, it would stop at the end of every block.

why not wire the signal in to your e-stop circuit?

Or as a limit switch.

Look in the G-Code and if you can find G41 or G42 then compensation is been used.

If they are not there then you have to tell lazycam the tool is bigger or smaller by the amount its out and regen the code.

Or tell lazycam to use compensation and adjust the tool size to correct the error.

I don't now how lazycam dose this as I don't use it.

If you are using tool compensation you need to set the diameter of the tool in your offsets for that tool.

If the tool is cutting big you increase the diameter size to make it cut smaller (making it stand back from the job more) and the opposite for cutting small.
