General Mach Discussion / Re: Jog Y in minus and X motor moves

They don't need to be touching, they only need to be close. It is the EMI comming off the X motor wires that is the trouble...

Pull the X motor wires out of the box and see if that helps. This type of a hardware problem is very hard to track down at times.

hope that works

shuttle mode is what I use :) in Mach 3 you can have an MPG set up so the more you crank the MPG the more it will run the program also the faster you turn the MPG the faster the program runs (Up to the feedrate that is programed)

hope that is a little better for you

The Depth is the total depth that  it is going to cut and the Finish depth is the amount that is going to be left for a finish pass.

I think that is how it works from reading the code this morning  ;)

That sounds like you have a network card that is looking for the network... run the driver test and see what it looks like. If you are getting spikes you are going to have to optimize and that can be found on the Mach support page.

hope that helps

General Mach Discussion / Re: Reversing Servo Direction
« on: June 04, 2006, 04:31:11 PM »
Under homing and limits there is a place to reverse the direction. As soon as you change to exit Mach3 (this will back up the XML file) then you can reopen it and should be good to go :)

This is noise in the system telling the motor to move... move the step and direction cables away from the power wires and see if that fixes it.

This is a limitation of the software :( It can be fixed but only with hardware like the Grex.. The problem comes from the CV buffer and the moves that are stored in the ring zero buffer. The buffer must be drained to stop the machine.

There is a place where you can set the buffer to be a little shorter but you will giveup some of the CV..
Hope that helps
