I can tell you that you are not doing anything stupid, I need to figure out what is causing you issues and make it go away :)  My issue is I have done this for so long I frankly have forgotten what it was like to learn this. That is why I am here :) Looking for what it causing issues and fix them!

I have 4385 on my laptop that I have with me that I am testing with. I am not running parts but I have had it make the gocde over and over. I have done it changing the file name and not. I will upload a new lua file for you to put in your Modules\AddOns\FontEngraving directory.

I did some digging and nothing is setting the X position other than when you open the dialog it gets the position of the last time you ran it. I don't see anything doing math on that so I think this one is all good. I don't work on this code :( I only did the original layout for it so I have to dig a bit.

Are you seeing the X position change after you press the save and post Gcode ?

Mine is not doing that here. I remember we had early versions that would shift the position of the after every engraving so you could keep engraving. We can rip that out :)

It is using the G55 offset , Delete G55 in the Gcode and see if you like that better. Clearly we need to take that out so it will run with your current fixture offset. I think we did this so it would not mess with your current fixture to do some engraving but I think we may have been doing a little over thinking ;)

The G-code looks okay to me, I am not a fan of G28's but your using them correctly.

That is some funky Gcode! I sort of like it. I had to do a double take when I saw the plane change in the code ;)

So your correct it looks like the issue is at the toolchange. You by any chance don't have an offset for the Y axis setup in the tool table for tool number 7? I know it is crazy.. Also I may need to see how your doing your toolchange and setting the Z axis offset for the next tool. Sorry I can't help more now but we will get this! Please run in air so we can make sure we have a process that works.

Thanks
Brian

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 not running on Windos 7 32bit
« on: February 07, 2021, 07:03:24 AM »
We have old versions of 4 that are 32 bit. And right now we 4 is still 32 bit ... we will be doing 64 bit soon so we can have the address space for the monster gcode files people seem to like now. I remember when I would punch my tape and if I had a big roll that was a big program!

Okay enough memory lane. We have many versions on the FTP server. And see if an older version will get you rolling. Sad to say but XP is done!

Can you upload the gcode file? I will take a look at the code. Also by any chance you didn’t  happen accidentally press the y axis zero button when changing the tool or something. Maybe we need to lock out the zeroing of the axis. I have seen people lock out the zeroing so this can’t happen. We will get to the bottom of this. Somehow you have added to your fixture offsets.

Wow, you really are aggressive. I would like to help you figure out your issue. But for some reason you are very upset and seem to like confrontation.

I worked with many PHD’s and engineers of all types (Worked for a University) . They where all great people that wanted to solve problems and make the wolf a better place.  You should take a deep breath and relax, take some guidance from your software engineers. I am sure we can find the issue and you can make your sign.  I understand 100% that the software many not be the best and I never claimed to be all that intelligent. But I am here to help and we have 100’s of thousands of units making good parts. So I am sure we can figure it out. But we are not going to get anywhere if your going to be name calling.

All the best man and I am sorry life has made you so angry.
