I would like to see a sliders for overriding data :) Scripts that will run after you press enter in a DRO:)

This would cut down on buttons that Mach3 needs.

Thank you

I can set up the Drill wizards for taping but it will not be rigid  taping... Mach3 can not rigid tap, but you can run a floating tap holder and tap.
What I will do is add in a setting for tap and have a dialog box pop up with a few questions that you will have to answer.

Thank you for the input

General Mach Discussion / Fun with Mach3 at the shop

Here are some pic's from work that Nate from work put up :) You can see that we have the CNC Plasma running now :o The cuts were made on a 10Deg slop to test the plasma's THC that we built. The THC is a DL06 PLC and a Little VB that Nate and I worked on. The cut was made a 18IPM so the THC was doing a little work.

The other pics are a mold the we cut to show off / test Mach3. It took 45 min to run the part at 35IPM... If I had more spindle speed I could have run it much faster! The mill is a series 2 Bp with Gecko drives and a VFD spindle.

Have fun :)

Here is the button for the newfangled set.
as for the mouse thing... That would be Art and I don't know how that would work... A few MPG's would be sweet!

Hope that helps

Hello Mike,
There is a button on the screen that is "Conversational" if you press it, it will take you to the newfangled wizards.

The Tracing function is for the things that you can't measure... When I came up with the concept I was talking with a guy and he was showing me what he would like to be able to cut with his plasma. He had a bucket to large peace of earth moving equipment in the shop that he was puttin n an other tractor. He said "I need this bottom and that top", this was the "adaptor" that was about 3 feet (one meter) long. This was a VERY complex series of arcs and lines that made up the profile. SoI ask How would you take a profile that is over 3 feet by 2feet and get it into your computer in under and hour? I have done this in under 30 min now! this is not to take the place of cam or simple things that can be scanned in. At work I have a $75,000.00 CMM that reverse engineer parts with when I have this problem. So it is a FREE solution to a $75,000.00 problem. It is not going to be the best solution but it is a ton better that having to figure out arc centers , angles and so on.

That said it may not be for you because of the work that you do but there are people out there that need this to help them get ODD things done.

Hope that puts a little light on the subject

Thank you
Brian

PS I did need to tell more about what to use it on...

You are VERY welcome! They are a tool that the guy's at the shop use all the time. It was made to make learning CNC a bit simpler and has given me many gray hairs... having said that could you test the new shape wizard for me? I know it is working in inch but I have not tested it in metric... I think I have it right... I think I am going to have to do an other XML for my mill that is all set up in metric. The trouble is getting the metric bits! They are $$$$ here in the US :(

Thank you
Brian

You are going to have to draw the lines to offset for the tool in your cad system OR you can try to code in a comp move by hand (This is NOT simple!).

Hope that helps
