You need to have the two power supplies with the same common... That is why you need to connect the ground lines of the two power supplies...

You can get encoders from UsDigital that will work very well with the Geckos..

It is all in the rev that you have :) you can test the G68 by typing in the angle on the MDI page..

The new revs of Mach3 are with the blue background and if you have a rev with the black background it is old and you should update... Also the new rev numbers came in with the new background and interface.. this was a major rewrite and basically it is not even the same program! This should be the only time that we need to make such a big change (I hope)

sounds like you have backlash in the screw... try setting your backlash comp to.001 and see if that is any help..
