Mach 4 Build 1953

It will not run any older G code file with “A” axis moves. It randomly fails and will not recover without a complete restart. It was running a four hole cycle and it randomly failed on the third hole and never moved again. I setup logging and captured this during multiple runs.

Hey Brett,

just downloaded and installed version 2030, and it crashes right at start up, with an App Crash message, I am running W8.1 64 bit.. I tried downloading and reinstalling, same thing, I have a license as well.

So I had to uninstall and reinstall 1942, which is now working correctly as it should.  Is there something new with 2030, like if we have 1942 era plugins or the like, we have to move them out of the plugins directory? Or some other "Pet Trick" to get 2030 to work?

Do not use plugins older than build 2012 with builds 2012 and newer.  All plugins now require a digital signature file (<pluginname>.sig).

I Had a chance to run some Gcode and it appears there is an issue with v.2030 - I runs OK for a while then locks up (after no particular time or number of lines etc.) and the only way out is a PC restart. Tried it several times with the same end result.

The history tab brings up this error message, if it's any help.

Tweakie,

Check the license status in Help->About.  I bet you are just in demo mode.  It is a random time.  The error message means that nothing was in the status history, nothing more.  I do need to fix that so that there is no message.

A bit more on the demo mode...  We changed the way the computer ID is generated.  Because it was previously looking at USB devices that, if unplugged/plugged, would change the computer ID!!!  Now it is ONLY looking at items that are stable on the PC.  But it requires a license update with the new computer ID.  Also, licenses are now kept in a separate Licenses folder and are no longer kept in the Mach installation root.

Hi Steve,

Sorry to say this but it shows Licensed in the help menu.

There was a bug where it showed Licensed even if it was actually in Demo mode.  The real tell all is what type of license it says.  If it says Demo and Licensed, then you are in demo mode.  If it says Hobby and Licensed, then that is a real problem.

A PC restart or Mach restart?  Because we really don't do anything that might need a PC restart.  Maybe Darwin?

We shall see.  But in the meantime, build 2038 will be posted up in the morning.  Get that one and try it.

Thanks Steve - I will try v. 2038 after it's posted.

This is a screenshot of my about panel...

Sometimes it allowed a Mach4 restart after stopping other times a PC restart was necessary.

Hi Steve,

Just by way of an update, build 2038 says it's licensed but behaves as though it is not (stops at some random point in time).  :'(
