It's a known issue in Mach3 that .xml files will occasionally become corrupt. It's happened to twice, but not to the extent that you're seeing.

What you could have done is go into the \Mach3\xmlbackups folder and copy one of the backups into the \Mach3 folder. You just need to rename the extension to .xml

When you get everything working, I recommend making a copy of your actual .xml file and saving it somewhere else. Then, if anything starts acting up, just overwrite the .xml and everything should start working again.

Hi Gerry,

Thanks. I will make a backup.

Hi Gerry,

I keep getting "Probe ignore activated at call for probe" and then the router goes off into left field. Why am I getting this? This has happened to me several times when I am probing for X,Y zero.

That's a Mach3 error telling you that the probe is already being triggered when the probing macro is called.
You may have noise triggering the probe input.

I bought your screenset couple of weeks ago and have been learning how to use it. One problem I have run across is the simple auto zero macro. The router bit routinely has about a 0.5 mm gap between the bit and the surface after autozeroing. The moveable plate I used was a circuit board measured to be 1.67 mm with a caliper. This plate thickness was entered correctly into the Tool Change tab.  I have used this plate successfully before with an autozero macro that I set up with the default screen. I don't think it's something to do with your macros, but do you have any idea what might cause this kind of problem?

My guess would be noise triggering the probe input before the second probe. Watch the tool tip very carefully and make sure it's actually touching the plate twice.

I did use a magnifying glass to look at the tool tip during the zeroing process. The probe tip was indeed touching the plate both times. I just finished reading the whole thread. Someone had this happened to him and he found out it was backlash. I'll check backlash to see if that's the problem.

Are you using a parallel port, or motion controller?
What version of Mach3?

Several people have recently had issues with 3.043.066.

Hi Gerry, Just a quick question with regards to the probe offsets.

I've retrofitted a Datron router and just setting it up and the offset from the probe (drop down aligned with the spindle) which is X+28 and Y+8 I've put the settings into the probing offsets screen and it probes perfect finding the centre/center every time..however it "appears" to get the offset setting from two dro's in the 1800's area 26-27 as I recall.. yet it places the probe at the centre every time...could I have a bad install or has this occurred before?

It also uses the Wine rack auto toolchange script by Brian barker modded by me.....is there a simple way I can still use this and maybe add a button for tool setting and store all TLO's from the tool-table?

The screen is very clean btw!
If you only buy one piece of software...make it Mach (dont forget the wizards too ;) )

Actually, I think there are some bugs in the offsets. I've only had one other person notice it in 4 years.
Send me an email, and I'll send you some updated macro's.

To use the ATC, just use your ATC M6Start macro instead of the 2010 M6 Start macro, and it should work fine.

Since you don't need the Initial Auto Zero macro, you can just create your own M881 macro and use it for tool setting. Since the button calls the M881 macro, you don't need to change anything in the screen at all.
