is there some add on i can get, purchase, or a simple procedure to do this? Am I making sense?  thanks in advance guys
You need to write VB macros to do it, or find some to download.
Or, you can purchase my screenset, which is what this thread is about, or you can download the Big Tex screenset. I think there's a link here. http://www.machsupport.com/screens.php
Both of these screensets are setup to do what you want, but they each do it a bit differently.

thanks i just purchased your screenset. i watched the two videos on your web page. i downloaded the manual and read it. it didn't say anything about how to wire up the two pads to be used. back to my original question do both touch pads get wired to the same pin?

Yes, both wired to the same pin, and that pin assigned to the Probe signal on Ports and Pins>Input pins.

Thanks.

Hi, I've been playing with the probing routines, pretty slick but I'm having a problem, when I switch back to the mach3 main screen, mach blows up, displays art error code 9988 and I have to kill mach with the task manager, doesnt happen every time, but most of the time, any clue what it could be?

Do you have a slow PC? I've seen on slow PC's where entering and exiting wizards can cause an EStop, but I've never seen an error message. If it takes more than about 3 seconds for the screenset to reload, Mach3 will Estop.
Try turning off watchdogs in general config and see if that  helps.

Yes, its a rather slow old HP with half a gig of ram.  I turned off the watchdogs and that improved it but not quite so I changed the kernel speed from 35k to 25k and it hasnt done it again yet.  Fingers crossed.

Thanks a lot.

Gerry,
Several questions:

1) When will 2010 screen set become 2012 or 1013 or 2014 screen set?

2) Do you have an pictures of A axis implementation? I have a 4 axis machine.

3) Have all the bugs been worked out? I have been following your screen set for a while but I am not an early adopter. I have Mach 3 R3.043.049.

Thanks

Dave

1) It won't. It was finished the day I released it. If there is a 2014 screenset, it will be completely different.

2) Attached

3) I think I had one actual bug reported in the two years It's been available. Afaik, there are no bugs. Basically, other than the probing macros, everything works like the normal screenset, it just looks better. :)

I installed the screenset i bought from you and went through the set up. how do i get it back to Inches? my DRO's are reading in MM's. everything was set to Inches before i installed the screenset. even the bottom of the screen references mm's. im sure it is something simple but i can't find it in the configs of the screenset.

Hit "Enter", and type G20, and hit "Enter" 2 more times.

There's nothing in the install or screenset to switch it to mm's. Did you by chance run some metric g-code?
It's a good idea to have a G20 at the start of your g-code to make sure Mach3 is in the correct mode when running your inch g-code.
