I've been using the 2010 screen set for some time and want to use the Simple Auto Zero.  Are there any instructions on wiring a Gecko G540 to the plate?  Thought I saw it somewhere once, but can't find it.

Steve.

I moved this question to Mach Discussion since it isn't really only a 2010 question.

This screen set really looks and sounds like a winner from what I read.  I'm thinking about buying it and I don't even have Mach 3!  Sure hope I can convert my Precix router over to Mach 3

I've been using standard 3-axis 2010 for past year and really like it.  Just completed my 4th axis and changed to the 4-axis 2010-4.set screen and now have problem with the simple Auto Zero Macro.  After first simple auto zero I load and run g-code for first operation.  OK to this point.  Then when I close g-code, change tool for next operation, and run simple Auto Zero, both the Z and A axis try to move.  Checked macro and don't see any code that notes a-axis.  Changed back to regular 1040 screen and all works OK.  Has anyone had similar problem with the 2010-4 screen.

What version of Mach3 are you using?
Both .set files are calling the same macros, so I'm not sure what could be happening?

What message is displayed when the a axis is moving?

Machine is located at shop.  Will check Mach3 version, however think it is ...42.20.  One thing doing different so can set z zero at center of work is obtaining z zero reference to table top (z then moves to 2" from zero).  I then moved z to 3.813" (the centerline of work) and then set z to zero at this point.  Would this mess up the macro's?

The only thing that I've seen that messed up a macro was E Stopping in the middle of a macro. Sometimes subsequent macros will no longer run correctly. So always restart Mach3 if you estop in the midle of a macro.
The only thing I can think of would be a bad .xml file. I'd try creating a new one from scratch and see if it still has an issue?

As you said, there's nothing in the macro to move the A axis, so I don't know what could cause it.

As for your zeroing method, there's a much simpler method. On the toolchange tab, enter 3.813 in the Material Offset DRO, and check the box. Then Zero to the table, and the Z zero will be set 3.813 above the table in one step.

Hi guys I am about to purchase this screenset as it seems the best so far. I currently a licensed version 43.022. Do I to have to delete this to go back to an earlier version that works well with this screen set? Or can I just download an earlier version over the top. ( I don't want to lose all my settings. Thanks.

Make a backup copy of your .xml file just in case, but you shouldn't need it.
Rather than going to an older version, try installing 3.43.062 over the top of your existing version, and you should be fine. You can get it at the ftp site, link is on the downloads page.
