Thanks.

Somewhere over 100 hours. Depends on how I calculate it. :) I actually started creating a Flash screen. I abandoned that idea, and started on this. I used a lot of the layout I had already done, and am not counting that time. It took most of my spare time for about 2 months.

The layout of the controls can be very time consuming. And once you have that figured out, the inevitable additions and modifications add a lot of time, as things need to be moved around and rearranged.

Right now I'm making some minor changes. Adding a single checkbox is requiring about 2 hours of Photoshop work to move things around so I can squeeze it in.

Writing the macros took about 10-15 hours, but needed daily beta testing for about two full weeks. This was to make them as safe as possible for the end users, trying to take into account everything that someone might try to do, which could result in a machine crash. They were tested on both an inch setup and metric setup. If this was just for myself, the macros might have only taken an evening or two. :)

Hi Jerry,

I really like the look of you new screens, but the main problem is the resolution - most new screens are wide screen.
If you were to make a widescreen version, I would definitely buy it.

Steve

You can run it in a 1024x768 window on a widescreen just fine.
Sorry, but i won't be making a widescreen version, as long as I can get 15" 1024x768 LCD's for $20 used.

is there no button on the home screen for g/m code display like in the default screen set? if not, there is plenty of room on the toolbars at the top to add it.

ger21, you did a good job on this screen set. im a little disheartened at your dismissal of any request that isnt immediately relevant to you though. i wish you would have posted that on your website because i wouldnt have bought it had i known you would only support features that apply specifically to you.

Because I don't own a widescreen monitor?  ???

Did you buy the Screen for features that weren't in it? If so, PM me, and I'll refund your money. Where does it say on my site that I'll be adding more features to the screen?

When I released the Screen, I considered it finished, with no plans for further development, as I had already spent a considerable amount of time on it. Adding a single feature can take several hours to several days.

Not sure what specific features you're looking for? Have you contacted me about adding any features?

I'm getting ready to send out a new version, with updates requested by users. None of which I have any use for.

I've filled most of the toolbar with the new features, but I'll add a button for the G Codes. I can't add the M codes, because they are part of the standard screen set.

I didn't mean any offense. Maybe it was just the way you phrased it, but the monitor statement just rubbed me the wrong way. It's possible I've just been reading into your posts too much, but I've seen posts similar to that in other forums. I'll drop it though as you seem to be doing what I accused you of not doing, so I was wrong.

It isn't a huge issue to have the Gcodes but it would be really helpful, at least for me. If I'm the only person who has requested it though I'd understand if you didn't want to spend a ton of time adding the feature.

Honestly, I haven't had more than one person requesting any specific feature. It's always just one person that would like to have something.

Sorry for not being more eloquent, I guess. :) All I was saying is that used LCD's are available for really cheap.

Yes, you're reading way too much into my posts.

I've sent out an update to registered users, and updated the web page.
Added the following:

Feedrate DRO
Button to open G-Code list in browser window
Button to open Newfangled Solutions wizard
Button to zero XY to laser point or crosshair
Option to ignore toolchange auto zero during M6
XY Probing Wizard

This is an awesome screenset, but as I play with it more I realize it is more than eye-candy, it is feature-packed.  Thanks again for all your hard work you put into this.
