Hello Gerry,

I have a question about using offsets. Lets say I have G55 set to 0,0. and G56 set to23,23 mm. I goto the the off sets tab and select G56. How do I get the machine to move to that location?  Thanks.

Charlie

Where do you want to move to?
The offset isn't a location, but a shift to the coordinate location.
If you want to move anywhere, you can use the MDI to move the machine.

I recommend you watch the homing, limits and offsets video here:

The standard mach screen has this button called goto z. what it does is make the machine goto zero position. When I use off sets in the standard screen the dros change to the off set coordinates and when I hit the goto z button the machine zeros at the off set position. I would expect your screen set to work similar.

The goto zero button is on the right side of the toolbar. (Left of the "P") Look in the manual for a description of the toolbar buttons.

 Hi Gerry,

Thanks. That seems to work. It would be nice to have something like a balloon message when you hover the buttons to tell what they do.

Yes, it would, but Mach3 doesn't have that option. Sorry.

What do you mean Mach3 does not have that option? I did it just as I described it to you in the standard mach screen set.

Can you show me a screenshot? I've never seen a tooltip in Mach3. And there's no way to add them with the screen editor.

Oh no sorry I misunderstood you. I don't have tool tips in the original mach screen. It was just a suggestion. I figured you programed the screen set in Vb or something.

No, it's done in a screen designer. I meant that Mach3 doesn't support tool tips. I don't believe that Mach4 does either, but I made a feature request for them.

The goto zero in the 2010 screenset is exactly the same as in the regular screenset.
