Mach4 General Discussion / Re: NAMUR Sensors, how to wire?
« on: March 18, 2021, 09:29:24 AM »
To use these sensors with any of the Mach4 supported motion controllers that I know of, you will need NAMUR signal converters. These are expensive enough that replacing the sensors is cheaper assuming that is allowed in the work environment where you would be installing the equipment.

On the Configure > Control page there is a tab called Axis Mapping that sets up the relationships between your Axis letters and your motors.

Does the Machsupport.com web site utilize reCaptcha? I run into it in many places but have never had it show up when I access the main Machsupport.com web site, this forum, or the FTP site.

As of January 2021, PMDX has not yet verified operation with THC controllers running with the Plasma profiles and LUA code supplied by Mach4. Operation with controllers that supply hardware generated step and direction control, such as the PromaSD are known to work. We hope to work on testing with the Mach4 plasma profiles after we get settled into our new offices.

Not all USB devices use a shared ground. The PMDX-424 has an isolated USB interface.

I think it was missing from the last release build, 4300. Has it been returned to the beta builds since then?

Also, please consider adding the wx4.set screen set back into the install so that people upgrading computers and Mach4 software do not suddenly find their profiles failing.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Can I used Mach4 on multiple computers?

I don't think this will cause the machine to have a new PCID which is what will cause you to need to enter a new license.

Most users have self managed licenses and would be able to go to MachSupport.com and log in to create the new license. If you already had the maximum number of concurrent licenses, you would need to remove one of the old ones first.

If you do not have a self managed license, consult with the company that issued your license.

If you want the DROs to show 0,0,0 after homing you should have zeros in the Home Offset column, and your Initialization Code string box should not have any G0 or G1 commands in it.

If both of these are true and you still have non-zero values, then something that I do not understand is happening.

Normally the function of backing off of the home sensor/switch is done in the motion controller and has no effect on Mach4's readouts.

Oh, there is another possibility. You could have saved Work Offset that is being applied after homing. Read up on G54 usage in Mach4.
