Hi Jem,

We need additional information in order to help you. Is this the controller that you have?

http://www.prototools.co.uk/shop/download/media/controller/zero3.pdf

If this is the controller that you have, the PMDX-411 needs to connect to the DB-25
on the LEFT side. To accomplish this you will need either a gender changer or a
straight through cable with a female connector on each end.

You should not need to change any of the settings inside the controller box.

Also, please use the Help > Support > Package Current Profile option from the menu bar
in Mach4 to generate a Profile Package from your machine and send it to us for analysis.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Auto Tool Zero
« on: November 26, 2015, 09:23:44 AM »
The wxMach.set screen set is editable in the usual manner. To start editing, click on

Operator > Edit Screen

One possible point of confusion comes to mind. There is also an executable named
wxMach.exe which is a special version of Mach4Hobby that loads with a fixed screen
set that does not have the Operator > Edit Screen option nor the View > Load Screen
option.

Running the usual Mach4GUI.exe (used by the launcher) and selecting the wxMach.set
screen set is NOT the same thing as running wxMach.exe because wxMach.exe does
not have the editor included. It is unfortunate that "wxMach" could be understood
to mean either.

Normally tools in a CNC machine with a tool changer are retained by spring pressure
holding some locking mechanism in place. The air is used to compress the spring
and release the tool.

The PMDX SmartBOB plugin release (0.33.159) that fixed the problem with homing causing
the fixture offset tables to be overwritten is now available. It can be downloaded here:

I think Pedio is using a PMDX SmartBOB. If so, clearing the offsets on homing is a
known bug and has been fixed in our upcoming plug-in release. That release should
go out this weekend.

Mach4 General Discussion / Build 4.2.0.2763 of Mach4 released
« on: October 27, 2015, 04:01:38 PM »
Build 4.2.0.2763 is a large update that touches on many things.

The default configurations and screens are now more user friendly and it is highly recommended that you
create a new custom profile for your machine by copying one of the new default profiles and modifying it.

The new build can be downloaded from the Mach4Support web site, or from here:

http://www.pmdx.com/Downloads_Mach4/Mach4_Hobby_Releases/Mach4Hobby%20Installer-4.2.0.2763.exe

The full release notes have been updated here:

Our complete archive of previous downloadable Mach4 installer releases is here:

GRBL is software that runs on the Arduino (and a few other platforms) and performs the
CNC controller function starting from G code. It will not function as a plug-in device under
Mach3 or Mach4. It may be possible to code a program running on an Arduino to work
with Mach3 or Mach4, but it would not be GRBL.

I've been running Mach 3 on a older router and would like to use Mach 4 on another CNC router I have that's controlled by a Ardrino Uno loaded with GRBL firmware. Short of ditching the Ardrino and replacing it with a smoothstepper or another USB board of some type, can Mach 4 address the GRBL board?

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach 4 licence not instaling
« on: September 08, 2015, 08:02:22 PM »
Well.... because people were told that it would run on XP and they based
their purchase decisions on what they were told.

Almost half of our customers are currently running XP. Over time I would
expect this number to decline, but booting them out without a stable
version of Mach4 running on XP seems a bit harsh.

Dropping XP at some point in the future when Mach4 gets a significant update
seems more reasonable.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 how good is your PC
« on: September 08, 2015, 05:46:33 PM »
See the list of requirements at the bottom of this page:

http://www.pmdx.com/Mach4Hobby

As always, more is usually better, but these are the minimum recommended.
