I would also like a Gear Wizard , with fourth axis g code generator.

Art, the author of Mach3, already wrote one. http://www.gearotic.com/

I seen that I was thinking of something alot more in depth .
Have you ever used GearTrax from Camnetics?
Like that but in M4

No, I don't make gears.
So, you want the equivalent of a $1500 gear program included for free with a $150 program?

I never said make the add on for free . Camnetics isnt not 1500$ its a 1000$ (like bobcad its really even isnt that much priced high sold low) but also three separate programs come with that one suite that works with my solidworks.  Divide the worth of the three  how you want . That one program out of three does allot more than make gear also its more for cad work. But has no Gcode out put for 3 or 4 axis anything.
I know because I own the program.
On the flip side I never said copy the program camnetics , I was just asking for something with more variables . I think you read way to much into that.
So for the gear function thats 1/10th of camnetics  im looking for I though it was a reasonable request to look into. Just a thought

Sorry.
Did you look at Gearotic? Try the demo, and see if it'll do what you want.

Unfortunately, gear software like that is incredibly complex. Art's been developing Gearotic for several years, and probably has thousands of hours into it. I doubt that you'll find anything more powerful without spending 10x as much.

Hi Macharoons...

I would really like to see a smooth interpretation algorythm for 4th axis machining.
http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,27856.0.html
I posted earlier my code and have tried EVERYTHING. It's just "The way it is." However, on a Mazak/Haas/okky etc it would be a smooth wrap right around.
All i wanted to do was mill/face the outside of a cylinder!

No idea why, no idea why I'm having issues with my code, but what ever you do... make it intuitive.

Also, I love my auto tool changing doohickey with Mach3 2010, incorporate it! I'd be lost without it!

I would like to see a limits overide button like in Mach 3. When I land on my limits I can't jog off without deactivating them in Mach 4.

Limit override is simple.  Add a toggle button to the screen and tie it to the limit override output signal.  Done.  Or if you prefer a real switch on the panel, map it's I/O to the limit override INPUT signal.

Please modify the Lua Panels allowing developers to refer file name paths for the source of the panel.  This would allow developers to easily refer to a single source for embedded wizards.

Currently Lua Panels need to have their implementation source code embedded in the Lua Panel.  If the source refers to an embedded wizard the developer has to cut-n-paste the wizard code into the Lua Panel.  Having the wizard code in an external .mcs file and inside the Lua Panel makes it difficult to maintain in two places.  A common best practice among developers is to only maintain a single copy of any code to avoid duplication and reduce code maintenance costs.  Extending the Lua Panel to allow it to refer to the external code path would allow developers to meet this ideal.

Is Mach4 closing the loop ? If not Im building a new system. Who has a real closed loop plugin? Meaning the software and hardware will adjust accordingly to get to the spot its supposed to be. Not just halt when there is a problem.
