Please read what people tell you, Mach does not give a $hit what windows calls it, it is just the address Mach needs.
Bios will make no difference, it is a PCI card.

Ugotit,

I am sorry, but I just can’t help smiling at all this.

I am assuming you are serious here and that this is not just a wind-up but you are over-complicating every issue without reading and taking-in the sound advice that others, especially Mr Hood, have been giving you.

The Mach manual clearly (in my opinion) details the Port and Pins set-up, perhaps you could print out the relevant parts (Section 5) and follow the instructions just one step at a time http://www.machsupport.com/docs/Mach3Mill_1.84.pdf. This may save you a lot of time and frustration. If you just keep going round and round in circles like this then you may never get your machine working from your PC.

Tweakie.
PEACE

Have you ever read this ? ? ? ?

ECP mode and all ?

Not clear from your previous posts that you have ... or not.

Maybe you know too much about computers because it seems you are overlooking the obvious.
Good luck. Hope you'll be gettin' it soon.

I'm not sure if this comment was for me Mr Hood but if it was get a life you are out of line
=======================================
OK U asked for it brother Budman68 for you
============
Mr hood said Mach does not care about LPT1 OR LPT2  just the address
Good advice = Key to make me think.
==============================
So MACH should list it as port address not LPT WHAT EVER NUMBER
Flaw # 1 suppose to be plug and play BS
==================================
Second NOT MANY run into the problem because they have a PCB
that has a parallel port on it. So they get LPT1 right off the bat LUCKY THEM
In this case you can read the address in device manager
Easy piece of cake.
============================
Third if you have to use a add in card Like I did PCI
Windows and the venders of the the WIN SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE, MOB
*********ED UP
You CAN NOT get an address with this card in the device manager.
It does not give you the option of resources
By the way I ran a lot of third party software to find the problem.
My software said LPT BUT may be an on board modem ( KEy right there) conflict already.
========================================================
My tip off was you need an LPT ADDRESS Thank you Mr Hood
Thank you to my third party software back in the days of win 3.11 for work groups.
Yea I Kept all the nifty short great programs.
Also at the command prompt you can run LPT1 ETC to see if you get a signal.
Took me back 20 years/
=======================================
So my last resort before upgrading the BIOS because in some Bios
on a particular board you can change the port but not on mine.
Was to return the PCI  which kept picking LPT1
Returning it for a refund, going to another computer store and buying a PCI E card.
PCI - E CARD
Goes in a different slot chances where it would pick another port and I could
read the resources in the device manager. Where I was able to get the addresses.
Now come the hard labor of learning MACH ETC.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE GIVE IMPUT
CHEERS.
We are in this together
