I tried hooking it up with a seperate cable, and then it worked fine......ok well that solves it.

thanx guys

Sure no problem.

If you are familiar with the connection of switches to designated pins/inputs on your port, then it is just an easy config in mach3 that is left.

Assign your port and pin number in the ports and pins input section.
Use input for OEM trigger#1 (if you dont ahve any ather assigned to this)

Go to System Hotkeys and type in OEM code 1000 in the OEM input field 1

I am writing this at work and do not have the mach screen in front of me, so I think this is how it is done.

If not I´ll look in to it later tonight

I´ve been thinking about mabye switching my emergency stop inputon the BOB with the probe, and put the emergency on the other pin/port, and try this.

Then I would have a pullup resistor on my probe input

Thanx man

Thanx Greg

I am running the input directly on the printerport (dont haave any pare on my BOB)

ANy idea what size of resistor i should put in? Connection diagram?

BTW I am running v2.60

General Mach Discussion / Noise during auto tool zero
« on: January 22, 2008, 09:56:34 AM »
I have just configured my machine to use auto tool zero, and the system works fine if i connect a switch to the assigned pin and grounds it, but as soon as i connect the cable going from my cabinet to the junction box there must be some interference that gives a signal to the pin, cause it stops the feed and retracts as it was to hit the touch plate.

I hvae tried to increase the debounce up to 5000 but no difference.

Another thing that happened is that I have a button on my control panel for homing, and a couple of times after i have tried the zeroing using the button directly on my printercable, is that it suddenly starts homing....

I disabled this pin input and it didn´t happen again.

The funny thing is that even if only the cable is connected and not the touch plate it still gets the signal (noise)rather imideately

Anyone care to guess?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Assigning output for dust skirt
« on: January 18, 2008, 10:09:58 AM »
Thanx guys, the brain writing was a blast, I´ll be using this for many many operations.....never knew it existed......thats the best part of this forum and Mach3 , always something to learn, everyday.

Youre right chip, actually started thinking of this as I was writing a brain, I have now done it this way, less wiring, and it saves an output on the printer port

Ill post some pictures/video of the pneumatic dust skirt in action

Ok, mabye a little confusing, how do I configure an output to be on during cycle run only?
(the output triggers a 5vdc relay that gives 24vdc on my plc input that again operates the solenoid)

in other words:is it possible to configure selected output pins in ports and pins to do what I want during mach operation?:)

I have mounted a pneumatic dust skirt that I want to control via an output in mach3 ,when I start the cycle, and return after end program

I am running the solenoid throu a PLC, and only need info on how to assign/configure the output

Didnt seem to find any info on this when I watched the input/output video here on the site

Thanx in advance

Thanx Graham

Just what I was looking for

But for now i have just stripped the printercable and connected them to terminal blocks in the electrical cabinet.

Played around a little with the wires and found out that i did not need a +5v, kust connected the input wire/pin to ground and then I got the signal.

Is this the way to do it?

BTW what does the emulate function do in the ports and pin setup of inputs?
