LazyCam (Beta) / Optimizing dxf drawing
« on: October 28, 2007, 11:33:56 AM »
Hi
I have a dxf file of an indoor depron model airplane that i would like to cut on my cnc

The problem is that when i try to clean an optimize it it adds a ton of rapids, so thet it almost looks like a web.

I have watched the Lazycam videos a couple of times, but please tell me what I am doing wrong

The file is originally a converted pdf, but has been cleaned up pretty good in Autocad.

There are some places that are not connected so it make the drawing made out of aprox 5 parts.

I am attaching the dxf file and the L.cam file if someone would like to take a look at it and tell me what I am doing wrong

Thanx in advance

General Mach Discussion / Re: How fast is your G00 Rapids?

No ballscrew, AT-10 timing belts.

I use some old sanyo denki Bl Super servos, DIY machine, I believe it is ac servos

You can watch the machine running at 50000 mm/m on this video

http://youtube.com/watch?v=3MoU7KRB1AA

the sound from the machine on the turns are from skiding on the tiles

I hve run mine on 67000 mm/m a little over 2600ipm, but wont force it at this speed, I think I´ll settle with 45000 mm/min

I am currently using AutoCad 2006, and want to make a front panel for my newest machine, but when I am going to import the dxf file in Lazy Cam it want show the text.

This is beacuse (I think) the text is not drawn as lines...am I correct?

I know earlier versions of AutoCad like AutoCad9 had this function, but cant find it in 2006 version.

Does anyone know how to write in a dxf file, or have any software to make this happen?

General Mach Discussion / Re: setting up second parallel port
« on: July 13, 2007, 06:15:09 AM »
Hi najnielkp

Yes all axis are up and running now thanx to  Chaoticone  (Brett)

In the end what we ended up doing was swapping the  paralell cables so that  my BOB and Z stepper got connected to the LPT1 port and the servos on LPT2

And of course change the settings in config/ports and pins/motor output.

The Drivers were installed by  Chaoticone , and we tried changing the adress for the second port into the settings.

Thanx again Brett

On my newest machine i am building a operators panel located on the machine, a few steps away from the computer running Mach3

Is it possible to start and stop cycle , and maby feedhold via inputs on the BOB?
