General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach 3 SDK ?

It is a Software Development Kit. t is for people who want to write plug ins for mach. It won't do the average user much good, Unless of course you do a lot of programing in C#.

General Mach Discussion / Re: How industrial is Mach
« on: September 29, 2006, 10:10:32 PM »
Once you get your mach computer dialed in it is pretty solid. There are the occasional hiccups but all in all things work very well.

As for 'industrial' lots of people, myself included are using mach on Bridgeport style machines. Most of the bad mess ups are user errors (my fault). I have also built a gantry router that i guess you could call industrial with mach running it.
You can see them here, there are also lots of other great machines in the show and tell section.

HI, In the device manager look for the "Mach X pulsing Engines"  Click on that it will drop down and Give you the Mach3 Driver. Right click on that and select 'uninstall' that should take care of it. Do a reboot and you should be good to go..

Hi, Well i promised some pics last week but the big mill broke. The Milwaukee Router that we were using for the spindle gave up the ghost. We have ordered a HSD 4 horsepower spindle and another baldor vfd for it. The spindle should arrive tomorrow than i am going to fit it to the machine. For right now i am going to remove the c and b axis head, the new spindle won't fit in that one. I am have started on version two of the head for the new spindle.

Anyhow here are some misc pics. Including our mach controlled knee mill and the new toy, A Haas TL1 .

I have also included some pics of the first part off of the lathe. It is the knee mill power-drill table height atpto-rama nipple. Nothing fancy but it works and i don't have to crank so much ;)

I am an imperial measurement guy and I just converted 8000 mm per min and that comes to 314.96063 ipm, that is moving VERY fast. I have a Bridgeport style mill with 1.2 kw ac servos and i can move that fast but it is scary and will eventually shake my machine apart if i ran it that fast.
To put It into perspective if you were cutting 3/4 (19.5mm) MDF with a 1/2 (12.7mm) bit at 18,000 rpm you would have to be at 288 ipm with a minimum of 5 horsepower ( 3750 kw spindle ) to get the correct chip load at .008 for a two flute carbide spiral router bit.

In other words you probably won't be able to cut anything at 8000mm per unit any way.   so slow it down to what your machine can handle...

Just some thoughts...

Good luck ;)
