Sorry to rehash an old comment.

For me ending up with 0 doesn't do me any good. I usually surface with a fly cutter and then change to whatever bit i have to use. I don't have a quick or auto changer so my z gets re done any way.

BAH !?!     Ok so if you do a preview it will indeed detach the image. When I tried it it popped a box up warning me of this.

I guess the moral of this story is don't preview when attaching a picture ;)

General Mach Discussion / Re: Waterjet/lookahead/accelerate-slowdown

Sorry i didn't explain that very well.

The "CV feedrate" is the speed it will slow down to.

The "angular limit" is what angle and above is used to set the slower feedrate.

Feature Requests / Re: Kinematic control

To properly answer this you need to find the model and spec of the servo drive amps and upload it here. After that we can look and see what would be the best way to get it running. More than likely we could come up with some way to get mach controlling the axis.

I have been using these. It is a 1/8 carbide end mill 3 flute high helix angle. http://www.discount-tools.com/endmills/3300.cfm I use 33008.

I order them from my local tooling supplier but the prices are comparable. They work very well.
Just a comment on the fogbuster ( i have no affiliation) the nice thing is you can adjust how much lube you use and the air blows the chips out so you don't re cut them and keeps the bit cool. I can not imagine milling now without it. Sorry I keep harping on it but it has made that big of a difference in my machining.

Not yet for a couple of reasons. First mach outputs step and direction and i am guessing that the servo drives want 0 to 10 for a input. This is being worked on by using a Galil motion control card.
Second mach doesn't support kinematics yet. It is in the pipe line but it is a long ways out.

Tangent Corner / Re: DYI Rapid Prototyping

The z corp stuff is so cool! I want one so bad!  The diy one is also cool. I would try using a UV curable glue squirt a little hit it with some UV led and move on...

I don't like how he did the z. I would do a cnc router style z and keep the base stationary..

But very cool none the less..

I am working on a 5 axis router. x y z c b.  The router I am building moves in three axis like a normal one and it has a head that pan and tilt to get all around a complex curved surface, like a car body...

So I need more than 4 axis ;)
