I'm in Hog Heaven
« on: June 20, 2010, 11:17:20 PM »
Been learning to use Mach3 and my Router with some Logos I recreated. Now I am hooked on finding spalding maple, wavy patterns & curly burl. Every wood pile I pass I stop and ask if I can look for unique grain and knots. Meeting some real characters. I'm sure that's what they say about me too.  ;D

Excellent work - looks like you are an expert and being modest about the learning.  ;D

Dave, I'd noticed my error after I posted, but no way to modify a post in this forum.

Working with wild cherry this week. Smells great.

Love Cherry wood when it's cut! I also love mahagony but it kills my lungs  >:( Mask is mandatory on that stuff-

Keep up the nice work-

Still having fun, Love the Wild cherry Indian motorcycle sign, dam thing is heavy too, beautiful grain & color.
I don't think people understand how long it takes to create these things.
A .045" cutters take a lot of light passes to get to finial depth without breaking. Damn China ruined it for the artist/craftsman's trade. ;D
Cutting vinyl is so much more profitable!!!
But these will last a lifetime, or they just might make for a warm winter night if need be.
Good thing I give these things away. The beer always tastes better when someone says thanks.
Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July weekend.
