not generatig a contious cutting path.

Hello,

I am trying to generate  g code of an escape wheel for a homemade clock.  The escape wheel is similar to a gear but the teeth are slender and slanted. The problem is that the g-code that is generated has" z moves" between each tooth and it jumps around between  theeth.  One thooth of the gear will get cut, then the z moves up and moves ahead past the next tooth, cuts back to the tooth that just got skipped , and so on.......

 ???

I think there is a gap from line to line... This will cause the problems that you are seeing. Could you please send me the file and I will check to see if this is the problem.

Thank you
Brian

The arcs for the tips of the gears overlap the lines that they should be connected to. You need to clean up your drawing so that all the endpoints meet.

Gerry thank you for looking at that. I have been working on Gerber files and have not had the time to look at that other file (Hard to change once you are started on a bit of code...)
