Move to say the X position you want to be part zero and click Zero X next to the X DRO. Or am I missing something? You can also move to a known distance from where you want part zero, with an edge finder, for example, and click in the X DRO and enter a number, say half the edge finder diameter.

The Offset Tab is a great place to look at for setting your work coordinate zero.
