Motor Tuning Small Arc's
« on: October 07, 2007, 06:56:38 PM »
Hi all!
I have been up and running on our Knee mill conversion for awhile now. I'm very please with what it can do. Right now we are running wood products via a router motor attached to  the Z spindle. We are using the latest version of Mach3 and VCarve Pro.
One thing I have noticed (and I know it has been discussed before) is that when the cutting requires a small arc / circle (3/4" to 1 1/2" dia) my Y axis seems to chatter. I have tuned, retuned and retuned that axis but it still is there.
Is there something I can to to improve this? I have the basic knowledge on Gcode.
Thanks for any help!!!

Hi, Olf20

Post your g-code, Is it Cad generated or Hand g-code ?

Post your XML file, It's in your C::\Mach3 folder, Probably Mach3Mill.xml, Make a Copy of it then Re-name the copy to off20test and  post it.

Are you running in Exact Stop or CV Mode ?

It's a Start, Chip
