USB Camera connection
«
on:

Hi - I have a problem getting a USB camera to be recognised by Mach 3. I am getting the report "unable to load OSG driver" The camera works perfectly in Planet CNC.
If there is a solution I would be most grateful to know please?

Klaus - Thanks for reply. I have tried both V2 and V3 on a Win 10 PC. I put the cameras on another Mach 3 setup (Win XP ) and got the same report with both cameras. No other programmes on this PC. The report is the same with the Mach 3 camera screen?

What type of camera are you using. Is it an USB connected camera?

Klaus - Yes both camera`s are USB. Both work normally on this PC and with Planet CNC.

The message "OSG driver" is definitly not coming from my plugin.
is this message appearing every time you start the plugin?
Did you install a deticated driver for the camera?
Did you try the camera on a different USB port?
The only requirements for connecting to a camera:
The defautl Mach3 plugin "Video Window"
must not
be started since the last windows start
The camera must be plugged in before the plugin is started

Klaus - Followed your kind advice. But no solutions. On the XP machine I am getting "Video OCX (driver) cannot be connected" report.

I'm almost certain, the message "Video OCX (driver) cannot be connected" is generated by the Mach supplied video plugin. Try the following steps
install Mach Plugin Camera V3 from
https://kd-dietz.com/index_eng.html
restart Windows
make sure your camera is plugged into a USB port
enable plugin in Mach3 Menu Config-> Config plugins WebCamPluginV3-Version-V3.09
Restart Mach3
Start Plugin Menu Plugin Control -> WebCamPluginV3-Version-V3.09 -> Start camera

Klaus - Reloaded your V3.09 onto the XP computer. It responded with the following:-
Camera plugin needs SP3 (OK)
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE PATH NOT FOUND.(OK)
The ordinal 254 could not be located in the dynamic link library msi.dll.

Hi Rod,
did you install SP3 for WinXP?
If you did, did you reinstall the plugin?
how did the reinstall work out?
