accuracy is off
« on: January 29, 2018, 09:27:48 AM »
Hi I have a 4x4 woodworking cnc router from cncrouterparts, I am having an issue with accuracy, I have had the machine about 5 years and have never had this problem before. just recently my parts started coming out 1/8" under size

I first checked the soundness of my machine for loose parts etc. that was not it, I rechecked my program to see if I had the right bit loaded that was not it. my test consisted of cutting a 3 inch hole and a three inch plug in 3/4  in MDF

the plug came out 2 7/8" and the hole 3 1/8"  ??????  HELP

Verify that your axis calibration is correct.
Ran fine for 5 years ?
How did you generate the code for the test ?
Looks like a .125" cutter without inside or outside offset selected. Cut ON the contour.

I used V carve pro to generate the code, my cutter was 1/4 end mill, there were no offsets selected

yes ran fine for five years, did another test by cutting a 6" square and a 4" hole centered inside the square came out 5 7/8" outside and 4 1/8" inside otherwise its very precise edges are square and the part itself is square

Hi Mike ,

If you post the Gcode file we can verify that it should cut the part correctly.

Tweakie.
PEACE

Post that last test code along with the actual diameter of the tool you used.
Just copy and paste the generated code in your next post.

Quick calibration. Command a move of several inches, measure the actual distance ... compare.
