Shuttle pro plugin (Mach4 version 2660)
« on: August 30, 2015, 01:59:24 PM »
The new version of mach4 (Mach4 mill screen set) cause the center wheel on the Shuttle Pro plug in to move at a very rapid rate. Is there any way to control this? The previous version of Mach (2580) had this moving at a very slow rate. I would use the outer wheel to get close and then the center wheel to fine tune. I have tried:

  • changing the rapid rate slider
  • Using the old shuttlepro plug in from 2580
  • While in the shuttlepro programing mode moving the center wheel (this does not bring up the programming window for a button)

Thanks for any help / thoughts,
Peter

Not sure where I find the "incremental jog step size". Is it this table? If it is which one?

The only other place I know that controls the speed of the axis movement is on the motor set up tab. You can slow it down with the jog % slider on the screen set.

Thanks for the help,
Peter

Yes, all of them.

From the operation manual:

2.2.4 Jogging Tab
The jogging tab, figure 2-20, displays controls for jogging the machine’s axes and changing the jog mode.
Figure 2-20: Jogging Tab
 Operator Control Selection: These are the tab markers. Select the desired tab by clicking on its name.
 Jog Buttons: Buttons to jog X, Y, Z and A axes.
 Cycle Incremental Jog Distance: In incremental jog mode each press of an axis jog button will move the machine on a specified distance, this button cycles through the distances defined in the general configuration. The current step distance in shown in the adjacent DRO.
 Toggle Jog Mode: Toggles between continuous and incremental jog modes.
 Jog Rate: Sets the velocity for continuous jog as a percentage of the machine’s max velocity.
 Toggle Keyboard Jog: Turns on/off the ability to jog using the keyboard.

However, it could also be a setting in the shuttle pro plugin. Or a function of one of the shuttle pros buttons to alter the step size. I have only played with the shuttle pro briefly though so cant say for sure.
