Probe set up in Mach 3
« on: January 10, 2015, 06:22:10 PM »
Im using the Probotix parallel controller board. I have the probe hooked to the neg, and Z for the limit switch. I have set up the probe in ports and pins, with port 1 pin 6. When I go to setting tab, and trip the probe by hand the pin 6 light activates. But when I try to run the digitizing wizard the probe is not working. Am I missing something? Or wrong setting somewhere?

By parallel controller board, do you mean you're still using the parallel port?

What screen are you using?
If you load the standard Mach3Mill screen, and select the diagnostics page, does the digitize light activate with the probe?

Yes using a parallel port, yes I open mill and go to diagnostics and when I trip the probe by hand the light on pin 6 lights. But when I run digitize it crashes into table.

On the diagnostic page, there is a digitize light. Does it light up as well as pin 6?
If the digitize light isn't activating, then G31/probing moves won't work.

Double check your port and pin settings for the Probe signal on the Inputs tab in Ports and Pins.
If the relevant port/pin led is lighting up on the diagnostics page, then it sounds like the Probe input hasn't been set correctly.

Make sure you do not have Emulated chosen for the probe input.

Diagnostics page. Just thinking, should the pins 6 light be lit, meaning the probe switch is open and not as it is now, closed?
