Not sure where to put this or if there's already a thread on the subject.

Particularly interested in what status the work done on the Galil cards and even the Deltatau card is at this time?

I mentioned in one of the threads here the soon to be available Leadshine card from China, I now have the preliminary programming docs for that device if you are interested.

Any interest in the Passive boards now supported by EMC2?   like the

The Galil is being used by a few and I need to order a few of them for more testing and I would like to add a few cool things I am looking into adding rigid tapping and lathe threading.
The Delta Tau is not taking to me anymore I need to try to get the coms working again with the Delta Tau. as soon as I have that I am ready to get the Gcode working!


The two cars that you are showing would take WAY to much work to get running We would have to make a new ring zero driver to make them work The time that it would take to make them work...it is just not worth it. I would like to see the doc's from the other card that you are talking about!

Shame about that, they look to be fairly well thought out cards,  I shall be trying one of them with EMC2 sometime.

Funny the EMC2 guys seem to say the oposite, they don't want to support any so called "smart" cards.  Nothing as strange as folk eh!

Why do the PID loops and all the other stuff it can be done in the card It is all time and I think they have more time to work at that level. Art and I are doing support and adding to the code to make it work better for the users. We look at the hardware and there are only about 1% that will benefit from the work. We like to add code that will help 50 +%

With the rigid tapping, could it be done with a galil and a vector control frequency drive and motor?  You don't need a servo motor do you?

Yes once I get it set up you wil be able to tap with non servo spindle

Well I guess there are pro's and cons. EMC has to do the PID, read the encoders and set a velocity voltage, not sure what Mach's burden is with the various smart cards.

I shall be trying EMC2 though just to get a feel for what it's like.

The EMC guys make great software and work very hard on it! I have talked to the guys that write there software, What a great bunch of guys. They have done great things and without them we would not be here!

Like I said we could make that card work but it is all time Art and I would like to get all the more advanced stuff like that running in Quantum and have Mach3 as a low cost solution..

I am about to read the docs and I will tell you more when I am done

Yup, that would be a simple card to add So mail me the cost and I will see when I can find the time to add them (About 6 months I an thinking)
