Table is not in level?..... cnc3040
« on: December 01, 2013, 07:26:03 AM »
Hi,

I'm new with cnc and now i have a cnc3040.  The problem I have is that everything else is working fine but the Z axis is not....

When I'm cutting lets say a piece of wood 200mm x 150mm so on the right side it is much more deeper than on the left side...

Why is it so? I have used all the settings that came with the machine...

Thanx for your help, hope you understand me.

The table top, X Y  plane,  should be parallel to the movement of the gantry. You shold at east check to see the condition.
If you have adjusting screws for the table top make it so. Even if you do, you still can improve by making a light cut across the complete table top.

Hi,

Here you can see

http://youtu.be/57xY94SnlCQ
It is like when I'm moving the spindle so the deep is okay all the way, but when I'm using vcarve or gcode the spindle is going like the table aint in level...

I'm not an expert with gcode but looks like line N200 of the gcode the Z is at 3.175 which to me is too high. To me this should have been 0.00

Then in line N210 the Z is -0.200 which means you do actual cutting (because it is a negative value)

I think the problem is how you set the depth of cut in Vectric

But someone else who knows the gcode will explain this better

Ok,

How about the feed rate and plunge rate? Can it have something to do with them? I don't know whats a good setting for vcarve 6....

This is the retract height, and is correct. It should NOT be 0.00

There's nothing wrong with the g-code.

The proper procedure is to mechanically adjust the table to be as flat as possible, then mount a sacrificial spoilboard to it, and surface that flat with the machine. Then, any work you attach to the table will be flat for your v carving.
