Mach3 ignoring safe Z
« on: September 04, 2012, 10:41:31 AM »
Hi guys,

I have been using Mach3 for over a year and all of a sudden, it is ignoring the safe Z. Is the safe Z across the board in all modes? IT is set for .5, and it basically ignores it and goes from 0 across the part to the cut start position.

Any ideas? I am pretty sure it is something I or my collegue has done but I cannot find it.

Thanks n advance,

Bob

If you attach your xml and I will see if I can find the issue.

Do you have a rapid move to safe Z programmed in the code?  Something like "G00 Z1".  If I remove them from my code, it will do exactly as you describe.

Mach3's safe Z setting has no effect when g-code is running. The machine will move exactly where the g-code tells it to.

The way I was reading it was he was pressing GoToZ and it was just going to XYZ Zero without first raising in Z and then lowering Z when X and Y got to Zero.
