Can you give any more detail?  Are you getting an error?

How would you connect the pod to say a Xylotex controller car?

Get another cable from Xylotex, cut the parallel port end off, and run the individual wires to the ncPod.

I got it working. I tried using it without the SD card. I guess I didn't follow the instructions. Works great now.

I got this unit to beta test. There isn't much information about it. I did read somewhere that you wouldn't need the SD card. I tried without it (I am beta testing  ). The only instructions are on the OEMtech website.

Attach USB cable
Insert SD Card
Connectors designed for 24 AWG (Other gauges available).
Apply Power (+5v Regulated 0.5 Amp to SPI Connector)
Direct 'New Hardware Found' to ncPOD.Inf

Well back from a relaxing weekend. It is great to see the traffic coming through here regarding the Pod.

As Ryan has found out, it is necessary at the moment to use the SD Card on the Pod. For some strange reason, Art has never had to use one during his testing, but Art is the only one. There are other known issues regarding communication to the POD and shortly there will be another thread started that addresses a few of these issues. Most of the issues so far have been with certain computers and their settings or the fact that some have tried to use it with USB 1. USB 2 is necessary to run the Pod. I have notified the Pod Development team that this topic has started and hopefully they will start posting here soon as well.

I will endeavour to finish a basic wiring diagram and Mach setup guide today (Aus time) and post it up here.

Ryan, I agree that the info on the Pod is lacking at the moment, this is one of the main reasons we had this thread started. Please post as many questons as you can so we can compile a good list of FAQ's which will help us put together documentation that covers the main issues of the Beta version of the POD.

I think part of beta testing is working without certain things like manuals and diagrams. The NCpod is new and there are not many post here yet. I try to post as much as posible to share my experiences with everyone. If you have an NCpod or are interested in beta testing post here so we can see how big this group is.

I got everything working inputs, outputs, and homing. I started to run the roadrunner file as a test. I was running at 200IPM and after 30 seconds I lost communication with the pod. To reset the pod I have to turn off and back on and close and open Mach3. I started the roadrunner file again but this time at a slower speed 100IPM this time I lost communication after 1.5 min. I can't really say that speed was related with the loss of communication. I also let the pod just sit for 10 Min's and it stayed in communication with Mach3. Any ideas?

Ryan, Check 2 things

1. You are using USB 2
2. In the bios settings of your computer, do you have your USB set to "Legacy Mode" ? If you do, disable legacy mode and give it a go, if not, let me know and I will think harder.

Brian B had the same problem and after disabling legacy mode it run fine.
