I put comments in the gcode file for tooling. Giving back to those I have learned from.

This was cut in MDF so I could test my entire gcode file. I haven't figured out offsets yet so I use G92 and G92.1 instead. Either way it works.

These are the comments I put in the gcode file:

(Deer drink coasters)
(chucks v-carve pro deer, Artsoft.com)
(Material 10"x10"x.5000)
(1st tool 60* vbit)
(2nd tool 1/4" end mill)
(Zero at lower left corner of material)
(move to X2.25, Y2.25 and rezero)
(Z0=top of material)

10x10 isn't necessary as you can tell by the pictures. 9.5x9.5 will suffice.

If anyone wants to help me figure out offsets, I'm all ears.

ibb, what program do you use to down size the deer? i was thinking of making some coasters out of 3.25 dia. aluminum with a rope boarder on the outside edge. the total id. counter bore is 2.875 x.o84 deep. thats where the deer will be placed. just wondering. thanks. tom

I opened the DXF in Autocad and scaled it. I'd like to get that rope border file if it's available.

thanks for the reply. the rope border is from vector art. i am not sure if it will work on anyother program than theirs. it is a 3vm. their program is free. its called 3vm machinist and then you have to purchace the models. i am not to good at this cad thing but its a work in progress. i can't seem to load it in this reply either. i'll keep trying.

Has anyone else had trouble loading this file? I've tried 3 times in different formats to copy and load it to Mach3. I open the zip folder and load the text document, that's the only way I got anything. I get one deer and 4 interlocking circles that are too large. The start point is in the center of the deer. I tried to fix it in lazycam but I could only get the circles to load there.
I realize this is an older thread, it's just getting to be deer season in Ohio and I wanted to make these for a Friend.
Thanks for the code, I wish I could figure out how to put the screen shot up so you could see it.
