Add image is under background
« on: June 29, 2010, 08:16:06 PM »
I want to add an image of some text, but it's hidden behind my background image. I can swap it with the background and it shows up, but it messes up every other element on the screen. Is there a way to bring an image to the top? Tried copying and pasting, but they all end up under the background image.

Hi Gerry,

the display order is bitmaps, leds, image buttons, controls, all from largest to smallest size. If you place controls which overlap, you can select those and use edit -> "swap layer".

did my suggestions help solve your problems?

No, I mentioned in my original post that I can't swap layers, because it messes up the display of all the other controls. It would work if I added the images at the start, before adding other controls.
I can use an LED instead of an image and that should work though. I've used this method before on my Aqua screen.

Hi Gerry,

do you still have the screen with the messed up controls. I you could send the set-file I will have a look at it.

I swapped the layers again to get back to normal. Right now I'm in the middle of a bunch of changes. When I get a chance, I'll see if I can duplicate it. If so, I'll let you know.

Gerry,
Did you ever figure this problem out? As I am having the exact same issue.

Sorry, but I have no recollection of what I was doing.

I went back to using Screen4, and only use a single background bitmap on my screens. Multiple bitmaps have always had issues for me.

Hi Hacker77

sending me the files generated by "Project Export" would be helpful, in that case I would have your MachScreen Settings.
