Found this driver
« on: January 18, 2006, 10:01:37 PM »
Hello,
Im not too proficient with the driver lingo, I currently use Geckos, and im building a second machine. I found this driver its supposed to be AC powered and 7.8 Amps, and microstep selectable to at most 50 microsteps per step.
Would these drivers work with mach 2/3?
Would these drivers eliminate the use of a dc power supply?
Ill attach the pdf spec sheet.
Regards
Fernando

Should work and it looks like they will drive a larger motor...
It will take TTL Step and Direction and that is all Mach3 will put out :)

I would have to test them to tell you if I like them more than the gecko drives...

The more I read, the more I like this drive.
What I like the most is the fact that they completely eliminate the DC power supply, and the price is right.

And geting rid of the added expense, a power supply capable of driving 3 motors the size those drives can handle would run you down at least 300 bucks... if you can find one, if you dont, you have to build it yourself... and we have all seen all the questions regarding power supply calculatons.
Cheers
Fernando
PS. I dont know it I am allowed to post prices here, but lets say that they are cheaper than a G202. FOB China, thats the down side.

This driver would easily power a 22Nm NEMA 42 stepper motor, that is 3,115.46 oz-in!
now what size machine do you want to build!

not that i know of, i found this company by searching overseas companies that manufacture stepper motors, i found the entry on a company listings like www.made-in-china.com or www.made-in-china.com, dont really know which one I used to find this company,
The down side is that motors are heavy, shipping of a set of 3 motors the size mentioned above is about 500 dlls!
