Hello,
Im not too proficient with the driver lingo, I currently use Geckos, and im building a second machine. I found this driver its supposed to be AC powered and 7.8 Amps, and microstep selectable to at most 50 microsteps per step.
Would these drivers work with mach 2/3?
Would these drivers eliminate the use of a dc power supply?
Ill attach the pdf spec sheet.

another thing
how would they compare to geckos?
-
Should work and it looks like they will drive a larger motor...
It will take TTL Step and Direction and that is all Mach3 will put out :)
I would have to test them to tell you if I like them more than the gecko drives...
-
The more I read, the more I like this drive.
What I like the most is the fact that they completely eliminate the DC power supply, and the price is right.

You have got to like less wire! ;D

And the price is ?
-
And geting rid of the added expense, a power supply capable of driving 3 motors the size those drives can handle would run you down at least 300 bucks... if you can find one, if you dont, you have to build it yourself... and we have all seen all the questions regarding power supply calculatons.
Cheers

PS. I dont know it I am allowed to post prices here, but lets say that they are cheaper than a G202. FOB China, thats the down side.

This driver would easily power a 22Nm NEMA 42 stepper motor, that is 3,115.46 oz-in!
now what size machine do you want to build!
-
Is there a website for this company?
-
not that i know of, i found this company by searching overseas companies that manufacture stepper motors, i found the entry on a company listings like www.made-in-china.com or www.made-in-china.com, dont really know which one I used to find this company,
The down side is that motors are heavy, shipping of a set of 3 motors the size mentioned above is about 500 dlls!

Hey,
Those guys aren't too far from me! If you think its tough trying to source components in the states imagine how difficult it is when you don't speak the language!
I'll have someone contact them to see if I can get my hands on a few to try out and report back...It'll be a couple of weeks though.
Thanks for the tip

Fer mayrl,
Send me an email, I contacted them and you seem to have better pricing than I can get locally
if you get me your price data and source maybe I can beat them up some

the webpage is http://www.jspan.com/
Good deals, if they work as well or better than the usual stuff, dunno if the shipping charges are worth the hassle

I noticed they only ship in groups of a 1000.
I have dealt with this situation b4 and if pressed they will probably work in 100 units.
I think the price would change heaps if in less quantities.

where did you see they only ship in qtys of 1000?
