X axis stopped working
« on: February 06, 2010, 01:14:02 PM »
I have been running Mach3 with Dell 800 for 3 months on a 4 axis machine. The X axis stopped working suddenly.

I have checked the LPT port motor output pins for voltage. Y, A, and B look the same. DIR 0-5V, Step 0-50mV. Y, A, and B work. X stopped working. DIR shows 0-5 v Step shows 80mv -130mv at the port pin. DRO moves but no motor movement.

I have verified the X axis wiring and motor are good on the other axis.

I have check the LPT port with a printer and it works.

The strange thing is if I swap the Step and Dir pins in the setup I get good voltage readings. (but my driver board can't use it like that).

Thoughts appreciated.

(I would like to get some sleep.)
Thanks

Try swapping the drives around, sounds like a hardware problem.
