So I have the Grex running on a Mill Smiley

It is running well with the 1 KW servo motors that are on it with 2500PPR encoders and I am feeding pulses at 250,000 pps Smiley this is MUCH faster than Mach3... The drawing was done at 300IPM and the mill is about 3500 Lb with a 3Hp motor. Very nice for this little mill...

I did a few more tests at 200IPM on some very small parts Smiley I can tell you that the newer version of Mach4 is going to do MUCH better! I am sitting down to draw out a test Gcode file for the Grex now and after that I will have a base for all the testing that I am going to be doing  Cool As soon as i am done with the Gcode file I will post it here so you can test your Mach3 mills on it ...

Out of all the talk so far about Mach4 and Grex, this has caught my interest the most.
If a picture is worth a 1000 words, then how many words is a video at 30 fps for 2 minutes? Smiley

Brian,
How much torque do those servos put out? and at what speed?
Are the drives step and direction?

They are max RPM of 3000 at about 5N-m (44.5 In-Lb) with a MAX 16N-m (133 In-Lb)

Yes I vaguely recalled you said you had some to try...   I'm very interested in them myself as Servo systems seem to be very expnsive in comparison here in the UK. (We do tend to pay £1 per $ on some imported stuff)

Did you have rto buy all the items listed? ie leads, breakout, etc etc.
