HMM....like that game stump the band or i can name that tune in three notes. ;D

Guess it's a mold and from the size compared to your finger looks almost like one for making castable
tooling inserts or insulators. Just a quess but Dave's reply is also in the running.

What else you got jaja?

hoi Rich,
there is about four square meters of all kind of things
a friend of mine called:"do you like to buy a lathe?"
"just bought a cnc, which still isn't working, so...."
"but this one belongs to a lady who's man died a year ago, and now she wants to get rid of it all"
so i bought all what was in the room on the second floor
hired a crane and lifted the lathe to the ground on a trailer
it is a real beauty
the mill is not so special
but there are so many cutters, measuring tools, gauges, micrometers, morseconus adapters, boring heads, drills, reamers, soft "claws" for the chuck, collets and more
(on the lathe there is a special collet device, i can send you a picture of it of you like)

so now i have to learn to work with all these things, and make all that i couldn't before

greetings jaja

jaja,
That's how i acquired a lot of stuff, especialy tooling and measuring instruments. I hope when i croak the survivors at least have the brains to find out what some of the stuff is worth and not give it away. But it won't matter then.
Post a pic of any oddity, i don't mind, and i am sure somebody will figure it out or come close.
You can keep score because as of right now it's  2 to 1 and responders are winning! ;D

Hello Dave,
you are absolutely right,,,it is a vacuum table, a small one i think
there is a hole on the side, which i did not mention before
if you blow on it the air escapes from all the holes on the surface

thanks very much, you (and others) are a great help

I kind of thought so as those screws in the center of each square would be to "shut off" each square so that depending on the positioning of the parts that will get sucked down, the vacuum will not escape out of the holes that are exposed when the part is laid down.

Should be pretty useful depending on how bad the seal is.
