Reconfigure USB Jogging Dongle
« on: August 14, 2008, 12:48:36 AM »
Hi,

Been away from the forum for a while . To busy building.

My question is : I have a controller with a "USB jogging dongle" supplied. I want to use one of the buttons on the dongle to produce a rapid jog. Can anyone give me an idea of where I should look in Mach3 or elsewhere in order to reconfigure the buttons for this use.

Thanks,

Bruce

If windows recognizes the dongel as a HID device you could easily set that up in Keygrabber.

I have had a brief look at keygrabber in the Mach3 folder. Is it intuitive to use, or is there a tutorial / guide?

Bruce I have not used Keygrabber but there is info on using it in this PDF

http://www.machsupport.com/docs/Mach2_6.11_Custom.pdf

What is this dongle thing you have?

Thanks Greg,

I should have known this.

The dongle came with the controller from Low Cost CNC Retrofit.  It is a push button system for X Y Z A etc. I plan to reconfig  one of the spare buttons for "Rapid Jog"

Incidentally I  have ordered my 2.2kw Spindle etc. from Saka. Should arrive shortly ( the O games are slowing things). Have you got yours up and running?

I also have taken delivery of the small 3 axis machine from Saka for our School . I have just about ironed out all the bugs and its working nicely.

Cheers.
