m03 not turning on spindle. Spindle screen button does
« on: July 12, 2008, 05:33:47 PM »
Helping a friend.  We noticed that the m03 code will not turn his spindle on.  pressing the spindle toggle button does.
M08 will turn on his coolant.  As will the coolant toggle button.

After playing around in output signals  i changed pin number around for coolant and spindle.  m08 will turn on the spindle  but m03 will not turn on the coolant.

I played with outputs moving them all around and no matter what output number I put for spindle (m3)  I cannot get this function to work.  also when typing in MDI  m03  the corrisponding output led does not light up  like when I type m08.  When typing m08 i can see the output led come on.

Any ideas?

Dont have spindle controlled on my Mill from Mach so dont use it and on my Lathe I use a custom Macro for the spindle.
Have you tried doing an M3 S1000 to see if that works. If that doesnt work then have a look in the macro folder for the profile you use and see what the M3 adn also the Spindle speed Macros say.

i dont use spindle m03 on mine either.  but if I go into the diag screen and type m3 in the mdi line.  I get the output 1 led  flashing.
also if I click on the spindle toggle button  I get the output led flashing.

On his neither the spindle toggle or the m03 command in MDI triggers any output led

Looks like his macro is corrupt then, have a look at your macro and compare to his. If you are using Mill and the standard profile you will find it in C:\Mach3\macros\Mach3Mill  it is called M3.m1s.
