Just had a look at their site and cant find any real info there I am afraid.
Encoders are used between motor and drives so that the drive knows where the motor is and the speed of it, your encoders should plug into the drives.
Do you know what components you have and do you have any pics?

loot,
What exact kit / system did you buy? Did it include one of their controller boxes which have drives and a board?
Most of the cables you recieved should just plug into the controller and then it's a matter of configuring MACH.
Maybe MACH is already configured based on a Sherline package and associated motors.
Think folks in here would be more than happy to help you out. I would have thought that Fred would at least
waver the $60 a year IMSERVICE forum fee until you got things hooked up.

i bought the sys-4 3axis box and i setup my step dir pin on mach but i  get just a small ammount of movement out of my motors
I know there is power to them because the lock up when i turn the power on.
it is the 3 axis parrellel port system.
it has a cnc4pc c10 breakout board and deskcnc servo driver board.
dont know if im missing something on mach setup
i have a stepper motor cnc system that works fine but cant get this one to work.
my motors turn real slow and some times not at all
i have a 1/2-13 thread  dont know what the correct settings are for the servo motors
for steps /in. -velocity- accelleratio
the sherline systems use the serial port and deskcnc software  this one is parellel port.
thanks for the help
