External Feedrate adjustment
« on: May 25, 2006, 04:39:25 PM »
Is there any way to put a remote (external) nob or adjustment mechanism to change the feedrate ?
example would be something that will connect to break out board for Parallel ?

Thanks
Curtis

The only way that I have done it is with a PLC and an analog pot :( But if you hook up two buttons (one for feed up and one for feed down) I can get them to work in Mach3 :)

I am sure John P uses an external pot or rotating switch to adjust feedrate, might be worth a look in the wikis to see if hes detailed it there.

Edit
had a look and John P uses it in conjuction with the ModIO

I think we can use joystick port analog inputs. We use it in our aplication (not Mach). We use two axis 8 button USB joystick. X axis for   spindle speed, Y axis for feedrate and buttons for jogging (X,Y, Z ,Cycle start, Cycle stop). Works well. How we can use it vith Mach3?

This can be done but a plugin would need to be written...
