Attatch a hotkey to a mach 3 button?
« on: June 19, 2008, 12:31:28 PM »
I've found and modified some code that I've managed to get working with the 'auto tool zero' button. That works nicely.

I'd like to have it so that the 'alt+z' key combo will trigger this function. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

If you open your screen in Screen4 you can double click on the button in question and asign a Hotkey for it. Once done it is best to save the screenset with a different name so that if you upgrade in the future it wont be overwritten.

Brian, I would stay away from using the z key for that as it is a native mach key in the default screen. If your doing a screen from ground up, it should be OK but be careful, lots of gotchas in modifying one. Mapping a key to zero the z axis dro is simple enough. First, copy your screen your wanting to modify and rename it something unique. Then open it in screen 4 and choose the button that zeros the dro and assign the key as its hot key. I think there is a screen 4 tutorial in the videos section.
