Setting Depth of cut ??
« on: April 14, 2006, 09:52:46 PM »
How do i set the depth of cut? When i set it to 0.1", it shows up in Mach 3 as Min Z: .0914: and Max Z as:+1.000

I must have missed something obvious.. am gonna watch the video again, since i must have missed something, but only place i can find to set Depth of Cut is under the Rast XY option, i set total Depth to .100 Max

Am i missing something obvious?

Eddie

*EDIT* forgot to mention that this is with the IMAGE load option, as i am trying to carve a picture of my wife for a belated B-Day gift. Didn't forget it, just haven't gotten it successfully carved yet..

There must not be any true BLACK in the Pic... The depth should go to -.1 in a BLACK section of the pic.
Fixing problems one post at a time ;)

Actually, i got a response from Art regarding this issue, which is as follows:

>Imaging really wasnt quite ready, the depths are backwards. Youd need to
>put -1 scale in the Z in Mach to get one to cut. Next version shoudl fix
>that. Total depth of cut is the depth selector. In either spiral or raster.
>You cannot set the rapid as yet. IT wil lgo at 1" to the start and it never
<really lifts from there, it just carves along in the image cut till the end.
<Should be fixed by monday or so...

thanks Art for the prompt response to this question. you always respond much more quickly then I ever expect!
