Saving Mach3 files in Vectric Desktop
« on: October 07, 2023, 06:47:09 AM »
Hi Guys. My first ever post, not sure I am in the right place, trying to save a .tap file in Vectric desktop, there is no option showing Mach3 in tap format, i have used .tap previously but recently changed to new PC win10 and USB just got it running after months of trying, for anyone struggling to set up the Break out board with USB, because the BOB i am using has auto levelling you need to put all your homing switches on separate inputs and unfortunately there are only 4, My auto tool height setter has to go. Also remember that the input side also uses port 3.

No need for .tap format as Vectric will save GCode files as .txt which is acceptable for input to Mach3.

If you prefer .tap then you could always edit the Post Processor that you are using (it will be in the C: / Users / All Users / Vectric... directory) to change the FILE_EXTENTION from "txt" to "tap". Vectric will then save the GCode file with the .tap extention.

Just a thought.
